Art is Everywhere
As part of the AHRC place-based research hub, this project demonstrates how creative community engagement and collaboration with communities can transform local arts strategies. Working across North Lanarkshire, the project used place-based work and performance to address inequalities through partnerships with diverse groups, from school children to older adults. Artworks—including photographs, films, community arts, dance, mixed-media works, and performance art—were co-created to reflect lived experiences and shared stories. These outputs informed the North Lanarkshire Co-Produced Arts Strategy 2023–2028, embedding community voices in cultural planning and establishing new models of inclusive, arts-led local development.
