Build Create Play – Contemporary Visual Arts Network England

Build Create Play is a project working with local people around Ronald Street Playground in Radford, with the purpose of bringing local voices and ideas to plan and shape how the playground should be upgraded. In a series of experimental play sessions and workshops with local children on the playground, this project explored materials, shapes, and colours that spark children’s imaginations. Data from the creative workshops are mobilised into the public artwork design and a video documenting this project. Build Create Play was included in the written evidence submitted by Contemporary Visual Arts Network England as one of the examples that demonstrate how creative methods can contribute to local place-making and decision making.
